The intersection is getting really bad. I do not know if anyone else has experienced any trouble but I have recently witnessed cars passing other cars in wrong lanes, cars pulling out in front of stopped buses and tractor trailers. I contacted the Franklin County Engineers which is who I was advised to contact. Mr. Meeks works in this office, they suggested we draft a letter of complaint and request a meeting with the Franklin County Engineers at least to get someone out to monitor the situation. I know someone was out doing a traffic count but there has been nothing since, and since the other intersection has been closed it has seemed to have gotten very bad. The woman I spoke with suggested the more people the better off we are at getting something accomplished.
Agreed- it is getting worse. It could be now that school is in session and schedules are changing around that, but I have noticed it.
I also have noticed when people get frustrated and were going to turn left and are in the left turn lane then decide to go right - I have almost been hit there too (leaving Trabue Woods). At the same time people trying to turn in and beat heavy traffic are cutting their turns tight and turning into what would be oncoming traffic for someone going to leave the subdivision.
I know there were discussion threads before about it...but I can only imagine what a mess it will be once snow and ice hit. There really are two ways in and out and neither prove better or not. Tenagra has the bridge that cars come flying over, and Trabue Woods has the "uneven" intersection that doesn't quite line up coupled with people not always using turn signals or knowing who has the right of way. There is heavy traffic but it would be better if ONE way in and out had a controlled intersection. I have sat for well over 5 minutes easy to get out of the subdivision.
It has been increasingly bad, I do not think it has anything to do with the changing schedules. Please go online and just drop a little note to the FranklinCounty engineers, I have been consistantly bothering them, so hopefully maybe someone will at least look at this situation, we need more people expressing concern. My daughter informed that there school bus almost had an accident this afternoon at this intersection a woman pulled out right in front of the bus. Trabue Road is used frequently by tractor trailers one of these days these trucks are going to hit an innocent victim trying to get out or into our development. Please take the time to go online so we can get something done.

Great News!
Ms. Johnson:
My name is Mike Meeks, I’m a traffic engineer for Dean Ringle the County Engineer.
Mr. Ringle has decided that a traffic signal should be installed at this intersection after reviewing our traffic study.
We will start the process of hiring a consultant to complete a design ASAP. It is our goal, that we complete a design before spring of next year. It is our expectation that if the money comes available, we will build this intersection next summer.
If you have any questions, you can call me at (614) 462-6158

To Whom This May Concern:
At least there has been two deaths in this area due to traffic. Some people treat this area as a two way stop and that isn't how it should be treated. We are in a development called Trabue Woods that Dominion built around 13/14 years ago. I have lived here 12 years. I have seen the traffic increase in this area dramatically. I have been in touch with Mike Meeks regarding this situation over the years but his hands are tied. We have had numerous counts which have lead to nothing. We fill like trapped rats in a cage at times. I am sure Dominion didn't do their job when building this subdivision here. We have found out a lot about Dominion over the years that things were not done correctly. I feel a street light should have been placed first then build the subdivision but then again what do I know. Could we please get a street light up at Trabue, Westbelt, and Trabue Woods Blvd before a serious death occurs with numerous victims. Plus how would you like living in a development where this is your only way out. Our you have to turn right and find a place to turn around in. Driving in this area is not fun. Living here definitely stinks! Please take this concern seriously and actually tell me so I can spread the word that something is going to be done soon to relieve the traffic in this area. Thank you.
