Broken Water Pipes

As you know our sprinkler system is inoperable and has been for sometime. Estimated cost of repair is $5,000.00 and the Board and Officers have agreed before any action is taken that input from home owners is imperative and this will be addressed at the annual meeting in April.

The HOA is billed monthly for water usage and when Beth Lintz assumed the HOA President position she found that although our sprinkler system has not been working we have been paying monthly water bills. The Trabue Woods entrance was billed for $92.73 which seemed excessive considering no water was used so Beth began investigating and discovered a water leak. She contacted the city and requested the water be turned off at both entrances. A work crew was sent out and Beth received notification that they did turn off the water.

On November 28th at 7:00 PM Beth received a phone call from a homeowner who was walking on Tenagra Way and noticed a break in the pipe with a large water leak. Beth contacted Mike Schlegler and together they were able to close the valve stopping the water flow through that pipe. Beth contacted Chuck Hadley, plumber, who immediately responded but was unable to turn off the water at the street. (Incidentally Chuck did not charge for the emergency call). Beth contacted the city and was informed only the Trabue Woods entrance water supply had been shut off so a second crew was dispatched and the Tenagra Way water source was shut down.

Each entrance has a water meter which generates a monthly charge regardless of water usage, therefore, the Board and Officers have agreed that to preserve funds the meters will be removed until or if they are needed in the future.

The HOA would like to thank the home owner who discovered and reported the water leak!
